One in five adults experienced Depression in early 2021 in the UK, this is more than double pre-pandemic levels.
Most people will experience feelings of low mood occasionally and that is completely normal. But a low mood may improve after a period of time, whereas without help depression is unlikely to subside.
Depression is sadly very common, but it should not be overlooked that depression is a serious and often life-threatening condition. It is incredibly important to get the help that you need for depression, left untreated it can get progressively worse and lead to other problems and even suicidal thoughts.
